Dr. Andreas Köstler
Chief Marketing Officer
Email Dr. Köstler

Dr. Andreas Koestler characterizes himself as "a lawyer gone bad". He started his career as an associate lawyer in competition and media law, but got somehow drawn into a more creative profession — advertising. Joining advertising agency Young & Rubicam in Vienna in 1984, he transferred to Young & Rubicam London three years later, becoming European Account Director and Vice President very early in the game.

Back in Vienna by 1990, he was Managing Director of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, and later of Wunderman Cato Johnson, another Young & Rubicam agency. In 1997, he started his own consultancy company, exploring the opportunities of the internet, turning it into a web consulting agency called diamond dogs — the biggest web consulter in Austria. He moved to Liechtenstein in 2000 as CIO/CMO of a new venture catering to ultra-high-net-worth-individuals — 21i.net.

After a sabbatical in 2002, Andreas moved to Bangkok, fascinated by the opportunities of the country and the Southeast Asian region. He developed and launched a new company called Yello, of which he is CEO, offering the MSN Classifieds service on MSN in Thailand, serving superior classified ads over the internet. In addition, he is a partner in XAM Capital Ltd. and takes care of marketing issues.

Andreas recently got married. When not working, he enjoys diving and skiing, reading science fiction, cooking and eating Thai cuisine, listening to alternative music and watching the newest movies.
